The recombinant proteins from λgtll genomic library of Helicobacter pylori in E. coli Y1090 were screened with monoclonal antibodies to 120kd antigen of Helicobacter pylori and one positive clone(λHPR4) was obtained. The recombinant protein
expressed
from λHPR4 was a fusion protein and the molecular weight of the fusion protein was 150kd. The 1552dp-fragment of 5'-end region of the insert DNA was sequenced by the shotgun DNA sequencing method and one open reading frame which was composed of
872
nucleotides was found int the forward sequence. This open reading frame was found as a unipue sequence thorugh homology searching by IDEAS Program(NCI, Maryland). The cloned gene in λHPR4 is supposed to encode for carboxy-terminal 290 amino
acids
(32kd) of the 120kd antigen.
